Magistrate 1st District

Dick’s magisterial district includes the Cities of Corinth and Williamstown and goes east of Hwy 22 to Pendleton County and extends south side of Hwy 36 to 4-Corners and includes the Southern end of Grant County.  It also includes Williamstown Lake, the Mason, Cordova, Heekin, Lawrenceville, Springtown, Keefer & Holbrook Communities.

Dick was born and raised in Grant County.  He is a 1963 graduate of Williamstown High School.  He and Nancy Sims Austin have been married 35 years.  They have a daughter, Gina Austin Smith, who is married to Noland Smith and two grandchildren.  Both Dick and Nancy are active members of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church for the past 35 years.  Dick has owned and operated Tire City Inc. (T.C.I.) for over 30 years.

Dick has been a Director of Grant County Deposit Bank for 15 years.  He has been a member of the Grant County Chamber of Commerce for 30 years, serving as President several years and serving on the Board of Directors for 15 years.  Dick has also been president for the Kiwanis Club.  He has been actively involved in community service for 35 years and is the Incumbent 1st District Magistrate for the past 10.5 years.
