Magistrate 1st District

 

Mr. Dick Austin’s magisterial district includes the cities of Williamstown and Corinth. It goes east out Hwy 22 to Pendleton County  and west on Hwy 36 to four-corners and south on Hwy 22 to Owen County.  This district also includes Williamstown Lake, Mason, Cordova, Stringtown, Lawrenceville, Heekin, Keefer, Holbrook communities.  This area is the southern end of Grant County starting in Williamstown.

About Dick Austin

 

Dick was born and raised in Grant County and is a 1963 graduate of Williamstown High School.  He and Nancy Sims Austin have been married 41 years and continue to live in Williamstown today.  They have one daughter, Gina Lee Smith and three grandchildren, who live in Williamstown as well.  Nancy is retired from the Williamstown School District after teaching elementary school for 35 years. 

Dick and Nancy are both active members of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and have been involved the past 40 years.  Dick has owned and operated Tire City, Inc., TCI, for the last 38 years in Williamstown.  Dick has served as a director of the board with Grant County Deposit Bank for the last 20 years and continues to serve in that role. Dick is a currently on the Board of Directors of the Grant County Chamber of Commerce with his membership dating back to 1972 including serving as president two years.  He has served the community in the Williamstown Kiwanis Club for many years as well as currently serving as Chairman of Grant County Salvation Army Chapter and board member of the Williamstown Lake Association. 

Williamstown Lake is dear to the Austin family as Dick grew up on the lake boating and enjoying the water sports it offers.  Dick, Nancy and Gina lived on the lake for 15 years and still own a boat. They enjoy sharing lake experience with friends, family and guests. If you would like to tour Lake Williamstown, give him a call and he would be glad to show the lake to you!

Dick has always been actively involved in the community and has a deep concern for future development and growth in Grant County.  He has served as Magistrate of the 1st District since January 1993.

Dick is a voice for all the people in his district and will try to help others by being open to their needs and suggestions.
