Canteen Information |
 |
Canteen is ran every Tuesday morning and sent to headquarters. Money orders must be dropped in the front office by Monday before noon to grantee deposit. To clarify any miscommunication about inmate accounts, when money orders are applied and an individual owes for old debt, 25% will be taken to help alleviate the debt. If an individual has no debt he or she will get the full amount dropped off. If medical bills are applied and an inmate has money on his or her account the amount due will be taken if the money is there, however if the money isn’t available the amount will be directly applied towards old debt and if and when money is applied 25% will be applied towards old debt.
Canteen credits are normally done on a weekly basis, if an inmate doesn’t get a certain item, meaning they were shorted something, a credit for that amount will be issued shortly after canteen is passed out. Normally if canteen is sent to headquarters on Tuesday, the jail will receive the order Wednesday or Thursday and distribution of canteen will typically begin that day and might run into the following day. Families may use major credit cards to place money on an inmates’ account. If you have any questions about canteen issues please feel free to contact the front office at ext. 10.
Funds may be placed on an inmate’s account via credit card by calling GPS at 888-604-7888. Discover, Novus, Visa, Mastercard and American Express are accepted.
